Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 April 2026
These are the terms between you and Kinson Tech Ltd (company number 16583266, registered at Elm House, Elm Road, East Bergholt, Colchester, England, CO7 6SG), the company behind Byron ("we", "us"). Using Byron means you accept them. If you don't, please don't use it.
1. Who can use Byron
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you're using Byron on behalf of a company, you confirm you're authorised to bind that company to these terms.
2. Your account
Keep your login credentials secret. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@getbyron.ai if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you send Byron and everything Byron generates for you. We claim no ownership. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display your content only to the extent needed to operate the service for you — nothing more. We don't use your content to train general-purpose AI models and we don't sell it.
4. AI-generated drafts
Byron uses large language models to produce drafts in your voice. Output is probabilistic and can be wrong, biased, or not suit your context. You are solely responsible for reviewing every draft before you publish it, including checking factual accuracy, legal compliance, and whether it misrepresents anyone. We provide Byron as a writing assistant, not as a publisher or editor. Anything posted from your connected social accounts is your statement, not ours.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Byron to create, store, or publish content that:
- breaks any applicable law (including UK data protection, defamation, IP, or advertising standards);
- infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
- impersonates a real person or organisation, or attributes quotes or positions to them falsely;
- harasses, threatens, or targets abuse at any individual or group;
- promotes hate, violence, or discrimination on protected characteristics;
- sexualises minors in any way, or constitutes child sexual abuse material;
- is designed to defraud, deceive, phish, or spread malware;
- constitutes spam, coordinated inauthentic behaviour, or mass unsolicited posting;
- generates political disinformation or synthetic media of real people without their consent;
- attempts to reverse engineer, harvest, or extract our models, prompts, or service infrastructure;
- resells, rebrands, or offers Byron as a service to third parties without our written permission;
- interferes with other users' access or the integrity of the service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, with or without notice depending on severity. Serious or repeated breaches will be reported to the relevant authorities.
6. Connected social accounts
When you connect LinkedIn or X to Byron, you're responsible for complying with those platforms' own terms (including their rules on automation, authenticity, and posting frequency). Byron can be disconnected from a platform at any time from Settings. We rely on third-party providers (Zernio, Apify) to connect to those platforms and read your posts with your permission, and their availability is outside our control.
7. Credits, plans, and billing
Free accounts receive a limited number of draft generations. Paid plans are billed monthly or as a one-time payment for lifetime access, through Stripe. Prices, features, and credit limits are shown at checkout and may change over time — we won't retroactively reduce credits you've already paid for. You can cancel a subscription any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. We don't offer refunds for partially used periods unless required by law (including your UK consumer cancellation rights where applicable).
8. Our IP
Byron's brand, website, code, prompts, and design are owned by Kinson Tech Ltd. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you. You're welcome to talk about Byron publicly and link to us.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Byron running but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Byron depends on Telegram, Anthropic, OpenAI, Supabase, Stripe, Apify, Zernio, Resend, and Vercel — outages or policy changes at any of them may affect Byron. We may introduce, change, or retire features. We'll give reasonable notice for material changes where we can.
10. Warranties
Byron is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by law we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for purpose, merchantability, and accuracy of AI output. Nothing in these terms limits any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded (including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 for consumer users).
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else that can't be excluded by UK law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for: loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data; business interruption; reputational damage from content you chose to publish; or any indirect or consequential loss. In particular we are not liable for what you do with AI-generated drafts once you approve and publish them.
Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with Byron in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you actually paid us in that period, or (b) £100.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you created, published, or caused to be published through Byron, or because you broke the Acceptable Use rules, you agree to cover our reasonable legal costs and damages. This doesn't apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own breach of these terms.
13. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from Settings, by emailing hello@getbyron.ai, or by typing /deleteme to the bot. We can suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms, put Byron or other users at risk, fail to pay, or if we have to for legal reasons. Sections that are meant to survive termination (payment, IP, liability, indemnity, governing law) will do so.
14. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we'll email you and update the "Last updated" date. If you keep using Byron after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't want to accept them, close your account.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, in which case you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing here affects your mandatory local consumer protections.
